Duwamish Residency

The Duwamish Residency is a staycation residency created during the past few months by my good friend and colleague, Fiona McGuigan, and myself. It is taking place over the course of the summer, including eight days on-site. The focus of the residency is about getting to know an area of our city that we previously knew little about, and to move out of our studios into that community to see what might happen to our art practice. We have invited nine other studio artists and one writer to join us in our adventure. As part of the residency we will be getting to know the community surrounding the Duwamish River, including the Duwamish Tribe and the South Park arts community, and taking a boat tour down the river. Art Walk'in

Despite two graduations (UW and PLU), a viaduct that was closed and numerous other stuff going on around town on Saturday, we had a great crowd at Building C Studios for the art walk. Thanks to everyone who made it out. It was a ton of fun!
