Painting Circularity

painting, non-representational, acrylic,
Circularity #4, 20"x16", acrylic, 2012
If you follow this blog you may have read my earlier postings about the Circularity Series. It evolved out of a group of drawings, and then mono and dry point prints, based upon a series of mini sculptures created with artist and friend, Fiona McGuigan, in her back yard last spring. This fall I've been working on translating the series into acrylic paintings. This process has been the most challenging of all because, well, paint is a different animal I suppose. Here is one of the first efforts.

Blindfold Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair

The Affordable Art Fair seems to be the hottest ticket in town. If you stop by today between noon and 3:00 pm, please come by the Blindfold Gallery where I'll be working. Of course, you should stop by even if I'm not there to see the terrific work on display. I can't wait to see all of the art in one place.  Maybe I'll see you too.

My favorite newsletter and blog has become Brain Pickings because it explores creativity through the connection of a broad range of topics, from science to writing to history. It is refreshingly ad-free and arrives in your e-mail on Sunday. Sign up so you can have yet another reason to look forward to Sunday mornings.
