Home in the City

Red Line and World View I

Life can take some interesting turns, some of which are circular. My friend, Robert Hardgrave, e-mailed me this photo while I was out of town recently. He took it while riding the bus on James between Fourth and Fifth in downtown Seattle. I was aware that these high res images (Art & Soul Photography) of two of my paintings had been selected to hang on the civic fence by the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs but didn't know that they had been put into place (official word shortly followed). Somehow having these images hanging in Seattle seems fitting. One of my first series of paintings,  the Downtown Series, was about capturing the deep sense of belonging I feel in Seattle. I'm at home in this city.
