Traveling

The wind is bantering tree branches against the house this morning but it’s warm and cozy where I sit in my living room.  No matter how many times I travel, that sense of unreality still exists on both ends of the trip and some how the wind and early morning darkness add to that feeling right now.  Yesterday I was on a boat traveling up and down the Hudson and East Rivers of New York, gazing at the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, eating lunch in Greenwich Village and hopping the subway to my next destination.

I love the contrasts of life and maybe that’s why I love New York and cities in general, and travel.
